The creation of Super Service Auto Repair Shops is more than a business venture—it's the story of two driven individuals, Andrew Bray and Bob Cornwall, who turned a shared passion for the automotive industry into a legacy of quality, trust, and community-centered service.
Andrew Bray: A Technician at Heart
Andrew Bray’s journey into professional auto repair started early, growing up around wrenches, engines, and everything mechanical. Working in a small, local auto shop, he discovered a love for problem-solving and helping others get back on the road safely. As his family grew, Andrew committed to deepening his skills and securing a stable future in the industry.
That decision led him to work alongside Bob Cornwall, where Andrew's talent was recognized and cultivated. He earned his ASE Master Technician Certification, and later, the elite World Class Technician status—a rare distinction awarded to fewer than 2,000 technicians globally out of over 250,000 ASE-certified professionals. His technical expertise, diagnostic skills, and integrity became the backbone of what Super Service stands for today.
Bob Cornwall: From Sales to Service Visionary
Bob Cornwall’s path into automotive service excellence began in the field of outside sales. He visited thousands of repair shops, studying what made the most successful operations stand out. Transitioning into a service advisor and general manager role, Bob quickly grasped the importance of guest communication, service transparency, and team culture.
His attention to detail led to the creation of the “Raving Fan Checklist,” a simple but powerful system to ensure every customer walks away not just satisfied—but thrilled enough to tell their friends. Bob’s mission has always been clear: build auto repair shops customers can trust, where service is personal and transparent.
Building a Better Auto Shop
In 2016, Andrew and Bob took over Placentia Super Service, originally founded by Ralph “Buddy” Dubois in 1978. From a shop servicing 45 vehicles per month, they scaled operations to over 100 vehicles weekly. Their success didn’t just come from technical expertise—it came from improving guest experiences, building community relationships, and investing in modern auto repair technology.

Our Super Service Story
Andrew Bray and Bob Cornwall's journey to creating Super Service Auto Shops is a
story of passion, dedication, and a shared vision for excellence in the automotive
industry.
Andrew Bray grew up deeply embedded in the mechanical side of the automotive world.
His journey began in a small auto shop, where he developed a passion for fixing cars.
As his family grew, Andrew knew he needed to expand his skills and find a stable job.
This led him to a shop where Bob Cornwall worked, and it was here that Andrew's
potential was fully realized. He earned his ASE Master Tech certification and saw
firsthand what efficiency and quality in an auto repair shop looked like. Eventually
achieving World Class technician status, an elite certification by ASE for automotive
professionals. Out of 250,000 mechanics worldwide who are certified, only about 2000
have earned World Class status.
Bob Cornwall's path was different but equally impactful. Starting in outside sales, Bob
met thousands of shop owners and gained invaluable insights into what made a shop
successful. Transitioning to a service advisor and general manager, Bob was mentored
in the importance of quality service and customer care. He even created the Raving
Fan Checklist to ensure guests were not just satisfied, but so delighted they would rave
about their experience to others.

robust systems and procedures.

trained staff to the clean, comfortable waiting rooms with complimentary snacks and
drinks, everything is designed with the guest in mind, including a full digital picture
inspection of every vehicle and texting recommendations and service reminders. They
even offer loaner cars and a concierge service for pick-up and delivery.

Together, Andrew Bray and Bob Cornwall have built a legacy of automotive excellence,
